Band name, album title and artwork generator type thing.

Thanks to @GarethHughDavies who passed this on to me via facebook. I’m hooked.

Instructions…

‎1 – Go to Wikipedia and hit random. The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band. 2 – Go to quotationspage.com and hit random. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album. 3 – Go to flickr.com and click on “explore the last seven days”. The third picture, no matt…er what it is, will be your album cover. 4 – Use photoshop or similar to put it all together. 5 – Post it with this text in the “caption” and tag the friends you want to join in.

Here’s mine…

Harvest revisited. Beautiful and free-ish.

I did promise myself I’d try not to spend on myself in January (tightening the belt and all that), but the ‘free’ cover mounted CD on this month’s Mojo made it a clear exception.

One of the greatest, sweetest albums of all time (Harvest by Neil Young) covered respectfully by some great artists, a few of whom spent a great deal of time on my playlists last year (Phosphorescent, Doug Paisley, Danny and the Champions of the World and Sam Amidon).

If I’m honest, no one track stands out, they’re all belters.  An old familiar friend with a different swagger.

It was either this or a ham sarnie = £4.50 well spent. ;)

Merkley??? the shootist, whats not to love?

Such is the vast abyss of wonderfulity that is Flickr, something as brief and flirtatious as a casual browse before setting off to work can often turn something utterly mindblowing.

Ladies and gentlemen, Merkley??? …lovely ladies, religious iconography, stuffed cats, down home redneck weirdry,  colgate and Prince. What’s not to love?

p.s. I think you have to be a Flickr member to view.
